Your personal transformation begins with discomfort– the sense that something in your life — maybe everything — no longer fits.
You can’t explain it. Nothing is technically wrong. But your soul knows: the timeline you’re on is too small for who you’re becoming.
This is the first step of alchemy: The Soul Shift.
Why the Soul Shift Is the Most Overlooked — and Most Important — Stage of Transformation
Most people mistake this phase for bad luck, a bad mood or a burnout. But a coach trained in the Alchemy Method knows better.
The Soul Shift is sacred. It’s the first crack in the caterpillar’s world before the butterfly starts to emerge.
You might feel frustrated at work, even though your job is objectively “good.” You might resent people you love, not because you don’t care, but because your deeper self is tired of performing a role that no longer serves. You might feel restless, daydreaming about something different… but you don’t know what that is yet.
Most people ignore this phase. Or worse, they shame themselves for it.
They say:
- “I should be grateful.”
- “I just need a break.”
- “Maybe I’m just lazy, selfish, or emotional.”
But what they’re really experiencing is the soul nudging: It’s time.
My Story: Ignoring the Soul Shift (and Paying the Price)
In 2008, I opened a beautiful healing studio in Long Beach, California. Within three years, it was thriving. I had incredible staff, loyal clients, and a business that was not just paying the bills — it was prospering with 6-figure income.
That was the year I received a clear intuitive message: “Sell the business now and start traveling. Write your book. Follow your path.”
This message was loud. It was loving. It was unmistakable.
But I didn’t listen.
I told myself:
- “Things are going too well to walk away.”
- “I can always do it later.”
- “Why leave when I finally feel successful?”
So I stayed. And for a while, it still looked good on paper.
But then the unraveling began.
Little things went wrong. My top employees left. The income slowed. My creativity dried up. My energy dipped. Still, I pushed through.
Until the real losses came– first my cats, then my mom, then my health, and then my sense of alignment.
When I finally did sell the business, I received only a fraction of what I would’ve earned had I followed the soul’s timeline. And while I don’t regret the lessons — because they became the foundation for everything I now teach — I also learned something powerful:
When the soul says it’s time to evolve, you must listen. If you don’t, it will find a way to get your attention.
What an Alchemy Coach Sees in the Soul Shift
An Alchemy Coach is trained to recognize this sacred discomfort for what it is — the beginning of something holy.
Instead of “fixing” the client or giving quick strategies, we slow things down and ask:
- What is your soul trying to tell you through this discomfort?
- What version of yourself is trying to die… and which one is trying to be born?
- Where are you clinging to roles or identities that no longer serve?
- What would it mean to listen to your inner knowing now — before it becomes a breakdown?
This stage is deeply personal. It’s also profoundly spiritual.
It’s where we begin to burn away false identities — not to destroy the self, but to uncover the gold underneath.
How We Work with the Soul Shift as Coaches
The Soul Shift isn’t something you rush. It’s not something you “fix.” It’s something you witness, honor, and midwife.
At this stage in the Alchemy Coaching Method, we use powerful tools to help clients find language and structure for their soul’s emergence:
- Journaling and meditation to access the deeper voice that’s been buried beneath logic and fear
- Shadow work and inner child healing to explore what’s being triggered during the dismantling of the old identity
- Astrology, human design, numerology, and tarot to give symbolic and archetypal insight into the deeper truth of the soul’s design
- Open, nonjudgmental inquiry to hold space for grief, anger, and resistance without rushing to a solution
This is where the coach must be attuned to meaning, not just behavior. The emotions that show up here — the anger, the sadness, the fear — are not signs of weakness. They are signs of awakening.
This Is Why You Must Start Here
If you skip the Soul Shift, everything else will feel hollow. The business you build will be out of alignment. The offers you create won’t feel like yours. The clients you attract won’t feel right.
You can’t build a transformational business without going through your own transformation first.
And you can’t transform if you’re still pretending everything is fine.
This is why I love teaching this part of the journey. It’s not flashy. It’s not “six-figures-in-six-days.” But it’s honest. And it’s where your power begins.
Because when you honor the Soul Shift, everything that comes next — your identity, your mindset, your behavior, your business — emerges from a place of truth.
And that’s the only kind of success that actually lasts.
